Indianapolis, Indiana – On Wednesday, the Indiana Department of Health updated the state’s coronavirus dashboard with new COVID-19 data.
Data was gathered up until Tuesday. Only on Wednesdays is the state’s dashboard updated.
The COVID-19 death toll in Indiana increased from 24,333 on December 28 to 24,413 on Tuesday. That is a rise of 80.
On Tuesday, there were 1,145 potential fatalities, up from 1,136 on December 28. That is a ninefold rise.
Tuesday saw an increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, from 2,002,760 on December 28 to 2,010,174. That represents a 7.414% increase.
On Tuesday, the state had 455 trips to emergency rooms and 111 hospital admissions, both seven-day averages.
According to IDOH, 3,852,175 Indiana residents had finished the primary immunization series as of Tuesday. 55.4% of the entire population is represented by that.
Through Tuesday, the most recent booster shot had been administered to 787,331 Hoosiers in total.
The Regenstrief Institute estimates that 1,772,277 Indiana residents have recovered from the infection.
According to the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering, there have been more than 662,082,000 confirmed cases worldwide, resulting in more than 7,507,000 fatalities.
